  • An Evacuation Chair Inspection is a thorough examination of your evacuation chair to ensure it's in good working condition and can be relied upon during an emergency. Regular inspections are vital to guarantee the safety of individuals who may require assistance in evacuating a building, particularly in the case of a fire or other emergency. Ensuring your evacuation chair is properly maintained not only complies with health and safety regulations but also provides peace of mind.

  • In the UK, it's recommended that evacuation chairs undergo a professional inspection once a year. However, more frequent checks may be necessary depending on the chair's usage, environment, and manufacturer guidelines. Routine checks by staff should also be conducted to identify any immediate issues.

  • Our inspection service includes a comprehensive check of all components of the evacuation chair, including belts, wheels, frames, and braking mechanisms. We also perform a functional test to ensure the chair operates correctly. After the inspection, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining any issues found and recommendations for repairs or replacements.

  • The length of the inspection depends on the number of chairs and their condition. On average, each chair inspection takes around 20-30 minutes.

  • If your evacuation chair fails the inspection, Paul will provide a detailed explanation of the issues found and suggest the necessary repairs or replacements. He can also offer advice on sourcing the appropriate parts or a new chair if needed.
